CHARLEY 5.0 is giving denim a whole new meaning. I said "is" and not "has" because they are constantly on the move to create new, trendy, spectacular denim pieces ever since they launched their first collection in Spring 2009. This past Thursday I had the pleasure of meeting the head designer of CHARLEY 5.0 Yalenis Cepeda and the woman behind the works , Brand Director, Susan Dimeo.
These women are on their game. Young, beautiful, motivating. Really inspired me even more to go towards what I wanna do. Yalenis is adorable, all things girly, bows (as i noticed she had a bow headband on Thursday), sparkles etc. Susan is more of a daredevil, rugged, punk-rock, sophisticated attitude. Combine them and you have CHARLEY 5.0.
I walked into their showroom/offices and heard the heaven music I'm always hearing in my head ahhhhhhhh. Sparkles, rhinestones, modern, white, red... i mean everything!!! "Everything sparkles in here" says Yalenis. She's not lying.... I mean even my cell pictures don't do this place justice!
I saw their collection that's featured in their holiday lookbook and felt honored to be there seeing pieces that haven't even come out yet. I mean it was such a wonderful experience and opportunity which I hope repeats itself.
Yalenis and Susan are both very welcoming and humble about their success and roles in CHARLEY 5.0. They are very motivating and very nice ladies who I now see as role models. Where they are today is where I'd hope to be soon.

Right before I was getting ready to leave Susan asked me for my pants size and came back with 4 pairs of their fabulous jeggings. I couldn't believe they were seriously handing me some of their pieces for me to have. I thought they wanted me to try them on and then thats it leave them there lol. Not going to lie. At first I thought... "damn these are sooo not gonna fit my booty, I should ask for a bigger size" then Yalenis, i guess noticed my expression and saw me try to stretch them, said "oh they stretch... they look smaller than they are". and she was right. Here are the studded jegs that are in the pic below (taken from their look book) in a size 27!!!!
